Week of February 17, 2008, Psalm 121

One of the Scriptures for Sunday is Psalm 121 – a tremendous psalm of God’s protection.
1 I lift up my eyes to the hills-- where does my help come from?
2 My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.
3 He will not let your foot slip-- he who watches over you will not slumber;
4 indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The LORD watches over you-- the LORD is your shade at your right hand;
6 the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night.
7 The LORD will keep you from all harm-- he will watch over your life;
8 the LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.

Dear Lord, my help comes from You, not from anyone or anything else, for You are the Maker of heaven and earth. You will not let my foot slip, for as You watch over Your people, You neither slumber or sleep. Lord, You are my shade at my right hand, and the sun will not harm me by day or the moon by night.

And when tough times do come, You continue to watch over me, and lead me through any situation. Help me to depend on You, Lord, for words are cheap, but Your Word lasts forever.

Thank You, Heavenly Father, that You watch over my life, all through my life, my coming and going, each day, and forevermore.

Thanks, Jesus, for Your great protection, for Your presence with me always, and for Your peace that never leaves me. Amen.

May the Lord bless you as you go on your way. May He go before you to show you the way. May He go behind you to encourage you. May He go beside you to guide and befriend you. May He always be above you to watch over you. And may He be within you to give you peace.
