Week of June 15, 2008, Psalm 100
One of the Scriptures for Sunday Psalm 100, a great psalm of praise and worship:
1 Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth.
2 Worship the LORD with gladness; come before him with joyful songs.
3 Know that the LORD is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.
4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.
5 For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.
Dear Lord, with all of creation, all of the earth, we worship You, Lord. We shout for joy to You with gladness, and we come to You with joyful songs, with songs of praise and thanksgiving.
We know, Heavenly Father, that You are God. You made us. We are Yours. We are Your people, the sheep of Your pasture. As we take time to ponder and reflect how great You are, O God, You remind us that You care for us and watch over us as a shepherd cares for and protects and watches over his sheep.
So Lord, help us always to enter Your courts with praise and thanks as we lift Your name on high, to the highest heavens, for great is Your name and greatly You are to be praised.
For You are good, Lord, and Your love endures forever. You are faithful throughout all the generations. Your word stands. Your word will never perish. We come to You, trusting in Your promises.
Thanks, Jesus, for Your enduring and abiding love, Your gracious mercy, Your presence with us always. And thanks for Your peace in the midst of our day to day lives. Amen.
May the Lord bless you as you go on your way. May He go before you to show you the way. May He go behind you to encourage you. May He go beside you to guide and befriend you. May He always be above you to watch over you. And may He be within you to give you peace.
