Week of November 19, Hebrews 10:19-25

One of the Scriptures for Sunday is from Hebrews, chapter 10, verses 19-25 - some powerful promises and directives:
19 Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus,
20 by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body,
21 and since we have a great priest over the house of God,
22 let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.
23 Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.
24 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.
25 Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another-- and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

Dear Jesus, we love You. We need You. We come to You – with total confidence as we enter the innermost sanctuary, through Your precious blood. For You suffered and died for each of us, and made a new and living way through Your Body, removing the curtain of separation. Jesus, You are our High Priest. And we come to You with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, sprinkled and cleansed with Your precious blood, freeing us from sin, and washed in the waters of baptism, and cleansed through Your Word put into action each day in our lives.

Lord, we thank You, for You are our Courage and Hope. You are our great God who spurs us on – one to another toward love and good deeds, one to another in Christian fellowship, one to another in worship – building one another up, comforting each other, encouraging each other, as we look to the Day when we see You face to face.

Thanks for Your love, Your grace, Your mercy, Your presence with us always. Amen.

The Lord bless you and keep you. The Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious to you. The Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you His strength and His great peace. In the name of the Father and of the Son of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
